SIKAFLEX®-290 DC PRO
Weather resistant deck caulking sealant for professional users
Sikaflex®-290 DC PRO is used exclusively for caulking joints in traditional timber decks for boat- and yacht construction.
Multifunctional adhesive sealant for marine application
Sikaflex®-291i is a multipurpose product used in marine constructions. It is suitable for making elastic, vibration-resistant joint seals, and can also be used for a variety of interior sealing applications. Sikaflex®-291i bonds extremely well to the materials commonly used in marine construction like wood, metals, metal primers and paint coatings (2-C systems), ceramic materials and plastics (GRP, etc.). Sikaflex®‑291i must not be used to seal plastics that are prone to stress cracking (e.g. PMMA, PC, etc.).
Assembly adhesive for marine application
Sikaflex®-292i is suitable for structural joints in marine constructions which will be subjected to high dynamic stresses. Suitable to bond metals, particularly aluminium (including anodized finishes), metal primers and paint coatings (2-C systems), or ceramic materials, plastics such as GRP (unsaturated polyester resin), ABS, etc. Clear plastics and mineral glass should not be bonded with Sikaflex®-292i.
Direct glazing adhesive for plastic glass in marine applications
Sikaflex®-295 UV has been specially developed for the marine industry, where it is used to bond and seal plastic glazing materials in boats and ships. Because of its excellent weatherability this product can also be used to seal joints in areas of severe exposure. Suitable substrates are aluminum (bright or anodized), GRP (polyester resin), stainless steel, timber, 2-C coatings and plastic glazing materials (PC, PMMA). Seek advice from our Technical Depart-ment if Sikaflex®-295 UV is used on thermoformed plastics.
Direct glazing adhesive for safety-, laminated- and insulation glass windows in the ship building industry
Sikaflex®-296 is designed for direct glazing applications in both the OEM and repair Marine markets, and is suitable for use with all types of mineral glass-based windows. Before installing laminated safety glasses which incorporate heating elements in the PVB sandwich layer, we recommend that you contact Sika’s Technical Service Department for advice.
Slightly thixotropic bedding compound for marine applications
Sikaflex®-298 is suitable for bonding deck covering materials made from synthetic resins (except polyethylene and polypropylene), and for bedding-in and sealing of teak plank decking laid on top of the sub deck surface. Suitable substrates include GRP, marine plywood, steel, aluminum sealed with an anti-corrosion coating (epoxy or polyurethane-acrylic based) and stainless steel.
